Celiac Disease Research Horizons
An update on a therapy for the treatment of celiac disease. Dr. Alessio Fasano from the Center for Celiac Research has discovered a substance called zonulin that regulates intestinal permeability. Larazotide acetate (a zonulin receptor antagonist) developed by Alba Therapeutics in the US is moving forward with further clinical trials. CTV news reports on the Canadian trial that is part of the North American study.
